To you...

This blog is for all the full time lovers of mas, kaiso, pan and soca. Its for all of you who hear soca in your dreams, who get excited at the first snip of braid and sequins, who get serious Carnival tabanca at the first beat of a soca, and who understand the meaning of "fete to fete" and "all night till morning!, who could pick up a bottle and some spoons and make sweet music in a riddim section, who could laugh at the satire of beautiful kaiso music and bawl out- oh lash, lyrics fuh so, who appreciate a corn soup and polouri an some bake an shark after a boss fete...is for all of we... all of us!

On the Road with Credable for Reading and Huddersfield Carnival

For those who don't know Credable, he is a young enterprising Ghanaian with an *incredable* love of soca which he has unleashed at the popular weekly soca fete- Release d Riddim. Run by a pure soca aficionado, this fete is a die hard fete- one of the ones where you dont dress up- you wear flats, sweatpants, short pants- real jourvert, the only thing missing is the mud!

I got this from him and think this is a fantastic idea- please go ahead and show your support!I will be going to the Dragons launch (first launch of the season!) and will have pics for your review on Sunday!

  5. Paul on Hamburg Carnival I just went on the website and it said

"Due to lack of financial support no festival of culture with the street parade and the bazaar will take place any longer.
We thank all the artists and volunteers who participated each year so great at the festival of cultures!"

Can you offer some clarification on this?

  6. hey Spiceness,

i dont know what website you went to but the festival we are attending is called the Stamp Festival in Hamburg, we just literally met with the guy running the event on Saturday in Luton so I don't think its the same event that was cancelled or no longer takes place.

if i can i will try and find some more info ie a website about the actually event

    thanks!
